Worcester police arrest suspect in Abby’s House break-in

    WORCESTER — Worcester police have arrested a 66-year-old man in connection with a break-in at Abby’s House, a local nonprofit, following a 2-month investigation.

    Officers responded to the break-in at Abby’s House on September 17th, and referred the case to the Detective Bureau. After an investigation, detectives identified Larry Berry, of Outlook Drive, as a suspect and secured an arrest warrant for him.

    On Friday morning, an officer with the department’s Neighborhood Response Team spotted Berry driving near Harrison Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop at around 10:10 a.m. and arrested Berry without incident.

    Berry faces charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime, larceny in a building, possession of burglarious tools and vandalism.

    Abby’s House, which provides shelter and support 15for women in need, has not released a statement on the incident.
