Worcester police arrest suspect in Park Ave. bank robbery

    WORCESTER — A Worcester man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that occurred late Friday afternoon.

    Police responded to the AllCom Credit Union on Park Avenue around 4:18 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a robbery. Upon arriving, officers learned the suspect had fled the scene and shared an image of the suspect's clothing and appearance through an internal email system.

    Shortly after, an officer located Christopher Grannis, 37, of Sagamore Road, who matched the suspect's description. Following an investigation, Grannis was arrested on Sagamore Road and charged with unarmed robbery.

    Detectives later obtained a search warrant for Grannis' residence, where they recovered additional evidence connected to the crime.

    No injuries were reported during the incident. Worcester police continue to investigate.
