WORCESTER — A 71-year-old man died after being struck by a car on Lake Avenue Friday afternoon, according to the Worcester Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian crash near 265 Lake Ave around 5:15 p.m. and found the victim suffering from serious injuries. A nurse at the scene provided immediate assistance before the man was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say the man had exited a bus and was crossing the roadway from east to west when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The driver, who remained at the scene, reportedly did not see the pedestrian.
The Worcester Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the incident. No further details have been released.
