Around 30 shots fired in double shooting in Worcester, 2 hurt

  • WORCESTER – Police are investigating a double shooting that left 2 men with non–life-threatening injuries in a hail of gunfire early Monday morning.

    Officers responded at about 3:27 a.m. to multiple ShotSpotter alerts on Southbridge Street and found roughly 30 shell casings at the scene.

    Officials said an investigation revealed that 3 men were in a vehicle stopped at a red light when another car pulled up behind them and fired multiple shots. The suspect vehicle then fled the area. The operator of the targeted vehicle drove to a nearby hospital, where 2 of the men received treatment for gunshot wounds.

    The Worcester Police Department’s Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit are continuing to investigate the incident.
