WORCESTER — MallRats Arcade, a popular gaming store inside Worcester’s Midtown Mall, reported over $1,000 worth of collectible handheld gaming devices stolen last weekend, according to a social media announcement from Odd By Worcester Brewery.

The stolen items included one-of-a-kind handheld consoles featuring Pokemon and Zelda games, making the theft particularly disheartening for the store and local gaming community.

In response, the arcade announced a special weekend sale offering customers a "buy two, get one 50% off" promotion on all items as a way to recoup losses and thank supporters.

Odd By Worcester Brewery, located in the same mall, encouraged community members to visit both establishments, alongside neighboring food spot Broth Ramen, to show solidarity amid what the brewery called a "shitty situation."

And, "To The Person Who Stole From Our Small Business… ????," the post reads.

MallRats Arcade is open Thursday through Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. Authorities have not yet publicly provided further details on suspects or arrests.
