Before 8 a.m. this morning, Worcester Police requested that Mass. Environmental Police respond to Hilma Street, where the bear had climbed a tree. Area resident Bob Aubrey captured much of the action and shared to his Facebook page.
Police tranquilized the bear, who proceeded to fall out of the tree with a branch breaking his fall (video velow).
The male bear, who officials from the Mass. Division of Fisheries and Wildlife estimated is 2 years old and weighed 180 pounds was then transported to a nearby forest and set free.
