WORCESTER — Worcester police say they are investigating the death of a woman who was found inside a vehicle Monday afternoon following a missing person search.
Joanna Brown was found dead around 4 p.m. Monday inside a gray Mitsubishi Outlander on Mount Vernon Street, according to a statement released Tuesday morning by the Worcester Police Department. Brown had been reported missing by her family on Sunday.
Detectives discovered the vehicle and Brown during what police described as an “intensive missing persons investigation.” The department did not say how long the vehicle had been at the location or provide additional details about the circumstances of the death.
The Worcester District Attorney’s Office and the Worcester Police Detective Bureau are continuing to investigate.
