Worcester sex offender sent to prison after Logan arrest

  •

BOSTON — A registered sex offender from Worcester was recently sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for possessing hundreds of files depicting child sexual abuse material, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

Andres DeJesus, 66, was sentenced February 4th by U.S. District Judge Richard G. Stearns to 12 years in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release. DeJesus pleaded guilty in October 2025 to a count of possession of child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, DeJesus was arrested August 8th, 2025, after arriving at Logan International Airport on a flight from the Dominican Republic. Authorities said he had been refused entry into the country because of his status as a registered sex offender.

When DeJesus returned to Boston, law enforcement officers searched his luggage and found several articles of children’s clothing along with a large amount of chocolate and other candy, prosecutors said. A search of his cell phone revealed a compressed Zip file containing 3 videos depicting child sexual abuse material.

A subsequent forensic examination of the phone uncovered at least 600 images of child sexual abuse material, authorities said.

Prosecutors said DeJesus has a prior conviction involving a child. In 2010, he was found guilty in Middlesex Superior Court of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, possession of child pornography, and posing or exhibiting a child in a sexual act. He was sentenced at that time to between 8 years and 8 years and a day in state prison.
