A popular true crime podcast is drawing renewed attention to the 2017 killing of Worcester school teacher Sandra “Buffy” Hehir.
Crime Zone, which has 572,000 followers on YouTube and 209,000 followers on Facebook, recently posted a condensed video examining the murder of Hehir, a beloved 49-year-old teacher who was found dead inside her Congress Street apartment during the winter of 2017.
The 19-minute Facebook video, posted April 28th, has already generated more than 394,000 views.
The episode walks viewers through the investigation using surveillance video, crime scene photos and interrogation footage while detailing how Worcester police ultimately solved the case.
Facebook video:
The podcast describes the investigation as beginning with a “confusing crime scene” and what initially appeared to be a series of dead ends before investigators uncovered key evidence that led to answers.
The Facebook video is a shortened version of a longer 33-minute episode that Crime Zone released on YouTube in November. That version has also attracted significant attention, surpassing 395,000 views.
The case remains one of Worcester’s most widely discussed homicide investigations in recent years.
