WORCESTER — City Manager Eric D. Batista will deliver Worcester’s annual State of the City Address on June 17th, highlighting major developments from the past year and offering his vision for the city’s future.

The event, presented by the City of Worcester and the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17th, in the Levi Lincoln Chamber at Worcester City Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Batista said the address will reflect on a year marked by both accomplishments and challenges for the city, including the proposal of Worcester’s first billion-dollar budget, the groundbreaking of a Day Resource Center and the launch of a Housing Production Plan aimed at addressing housing needs.

“These are some of the developments from the past year that will be reflected upon at our annual State of the City Address,” Batista said in a statement. “Beyond reflection, we will celebrate all that makes Worcester the beautiful and thriving city that it is.”

Paul Matthews, executive director and chief executive officer of the Worcester Regional Research Bureau, said the organization is proud to continue its longstanding role in hosting the annual address.

“With Worcester continuing our extraordinary growth to nearly 214,000 residents, the Research Bureau is honored to continue our tradition hosting a State of the City address by City Manager Eric Batista,” Matthews said. “We look forward to providing him with an opportunity to share his perspective and vision for the future of New England’s second largest city.”

The annual address is expected to provide residents, business leaders and community stakeholders with an overview of Worcester’s recent progress and the administration’s priorities for the year ahead.
