WORCESTER — A Worcester woman plans to return to school after winning a $1 million prize on a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket.
Ashley Hurley won the $1 million prize in the Lottery’s “LOTERIA™” instant ticket game, the Lottery announced Wednesday.
Hurley chose the cash option and received a payment of $650,000 before taxes.
She told the Lottery she plans to use her winnings to return to school and earn a master’s degree in social work, with the goal of helping her community.
Hurley bought the winning ticket at Mobil, 635 Chandler Street in Worcester. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
