AUBURN — A 36-year-old Worcester man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault reported in Auburn in July following what police described as a lengthy investigation.

Franklin Nuahn of Worcester was arrested Thursday in Worcester by Auburn police detectives with assistance from the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, Worcester police and the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Police said Auburn detectives secured and reviewed video evidence, interviewed witnesses and collected forensic evidence during the investigation.

Nuahn was taken to the Auburn Police Department for booking before being transported to Worcester District Court for arraignment. He was held on $5,000 bail, police said.

Auburn police did not provide additional details about the alleged assault, including the specific charges against Nuahn, circumstances surrounding the incident or the exact date and location where it allegedly occurred.

The department said it takes reports of sexual assault and other violent crimes seriously and is committed to conducting thorough investigations while treating victims with dignity, compassion and respect.
