WORCESTER — A Worcester man faces multiple gun charges after police said officers found a loaded gun during an early morning traffic stop on Main Street.
Worcester police stopped an uninsured vehicle at about 1 a.m. Monday. The driver, 31-year-old Derry Walker of Worcester, did not have a Mass. driver’s license and had an outstanding warrant, police said.
Officers ordered Walker out of the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs. During an inventory of the vehicle, officers found a gun in the center console, according to police.
Police determined that Walker did not have a license to carry.
Walker was charged with carrying a gun without a license, possession of a large-capacity gun, possession of a loaded gun without a license to carry, possession of ammunition without a license to carry, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was also arrested on the outstanding warrant.
