AUBURN — Auburn Police Department Detectives have arrested a local man for possession and distribution of child pornography following an extensive investigation.
On Thursday, June 20th, Auburn police executed search and arrest warrants at a residence in Auburn, resulting in the apprehension of 42-year-old Wildreen Montano. The investigation, which began some time ago, involved collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police's Internet Crime Against Children Task Force and Cyber Crime Unit.
Authorities discovered significant evidence through various outlets, leading to the warrants. During the operation, state police provided on-site digital evidence examination and a specially trained K9 unit to detect digital storage devices.
Montano was charged with possession and distribution of child pornography. Initially held on $10,040 bail, his bail was later reduced to $2,000 following his arraignment in Worcester District Court.
Police do not believe any of the children depicted in the recovered images are from the local community.
