Voters in Holden on Monday overwhelmingly supported to exempt from Proposition 2½ the money needed for improvements and repairs on three town schools.
According to unofficial results posted to the town’s website, the vote to override won by 420 votes, 663-243.

A total of 952 of 14,100 eligible voters voted on Monday, a 6.75 percent turnout.
The ballot question calls for fixes to Dawson, Davis Hill and Mayo elementary schools. Davis Hill requires repairs to roof and gutters and a replacement of concrete envelopes. All three schools will be in line for improvements or replacement of HVAC systems.
In the one contested race, Joseph Sullivan defeated Timothy Ethier for Town Moderator, 537-374.
Laura Kirshenbaum, the only candidate with her name on the ballot for four spots on the Wachusett Regional School District Committee, received 720 votes. Michael Dennis (108), Scott Brown (101), and Krista Bennett (93) also received votes.
Town Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Wachusett Regional High School. The warrant is here.
