A fire destroys a barn on Prospect Street in West Boylston (Rutland FD Facebook)
Firefighters from West Boylston and surrounding towns saved an adjacent house as a fire consumed a barn on Saturday afternoon.
The 2-alarm fire started in the morning in the barn behind 378 Prospect St. in West Boylston.

In a Facebook post, the West Boylston Fire Department reported: "Initial crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the main home. With the help of our mutual aid partners, the fire was brought under control and extinguished. One firefighter was evaluated on scene by paramedics but was not transported. There were no injuries to civilians and there were no animals in the barn. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
