2 17-year-olds busted after harassing homeless man in Elm Park

  • WORCESTER -- Worcester police officers arrested 2 17-year-olds on Saturday after they harassed a homeless man in Elm Park in Worcester.

    The W.P.D. received a call shortly before 7 p.m. reporting that a group of youths were attempting to fight someone in the park.

    Officers found that the youths had been taunting and pushing a homeless man, as well as taking his hat. Bystanders intervened and contacted the police.

    After issuing a B.O.L.O. (Be On The Lookout) with descriptions of the suspects, officers located 4 youths matching the description. The suspects attempted to flee through residential yards but were pursued by the police.

    Officers apprehended a 17-year-old male and charged him with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. A second 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery on a police officer after he resisted arrest by elbowing an officer in the chest.
