WORCESTER — Worcester Police Department officers arrested a man on Sunday, April 16th following a road rage incident involving a machete near Millbury and Providence streets.
Shortly after 2 p.m., officers responded to witness reports of an altercation between the drivers of a white Toyota and a blue Honda.
According to witnesses, the Honda driver exited his vehicle to confront the Toyota driver, who proceeded to assault him with a machete, striking him in the head and back. The victim received medical attention after officers called for an ambulance.
A subsequent B.O.L.O. alert led to the arrest of 40-year-old Ezekial Santiago of Charlton Street at a red light on McKeon Road. Officers discovered a machete in his vehicle during the arrest. Santiago faces charges of armed assault to murder and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled for arraignment in court.
