WORCESTER — A 24-year-old Millbury man is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash on Blithewood Ave. near Oakwood Lane, according to the Worcester Police Department.
The incident occurred on shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 11th. Responding officers found the injured motorcyclist being aided by a nurse who happened to be at the scene. The officers provided additional assistance until paramedics took over.
Witnesses said the man was riding west on Blithewood Ave. when he seemingly lost control, hitting the curb and then colliding with 2 poles. The impact left the man with life-threatening injuries, and he was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital.
The Worcester Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the incident. Details of what might have caused the man to lose control are still emerging. As of now, the crash remains under investigation.
Authorities are urging any witnesses or those with additional information to come forward to aid in the ongoing probe.
