3 pizza delivery drivers robbed at gunpoint in Worcester

    WORCESTER — The Worcester Police Department’s Detective Bureau is investigating a string of armed robberies targeting pizza delivery drivers on Vernon Hill.

    According to a release, the first incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, August 12th, when a delivery driver on Lund Street was approached by 2 men males. As the driver attempted to make change, a suspect produced a gun, and the 2 fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

    3 days later, on Thursday, August 15th, officers were dispatched to Doane Street shortly before midnight after a similar robbery. The victim reported that 2 men approached him, and 1 displayed a gun, demanding his car keys. The suspects stole the vehicle, which contained the driver’s iPhone, wallet, and a small amount of cash.

    The third robbery took place on Sunday, August 18th on Esther Street just before 10 p.m. Again, 2 men confronted the driver, 1 of whom was armed. They took the driver’s iPhone and cash.

    No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, and police have not determined if the same suspects were involved in all 3 cases. The investigation is ongoing.
