WORCESTER — A Worcester man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly breaking into a home on Alvarado Avenue, according to the Worcester Police Department.
Officers responded to the residence around 8:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a past break-in. Earlier that day, police had been alerted to a man reportedly attempting to break into houses in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found a door ajar and a broken window at the scene.
Inside the home, police discovered 52-year-old Derek Ashley of Fairmont Avenue. Authorities said Ashley had no legitimate reason to be in the residence and was taken into custody.
Ashley has been charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, as well as vandalism. The investigation remains ongoing.
