WORCESTER — A Worcester man faces multiple charges after allegedly offering police $10,000 to walk away during a drug raid that uncovered a large amount of fentanyl, authorities said.

Vice squad detectives executed a search warrant around 7 a.m. Friday at a Vale Street apartment, targeting 60-year-old Michael Hoose Sr., according to a statement from the Worcester Police Department.

Police said Hoose Sr. offered detectives an envelope containing $10,000 if they would "just go away" after officers secured the apartment.

A subsequent search turned up approximately 650 bags of fentanyl totaling about 150 grams, packaging materials, scales, ammunition, and more than $226,000 in cash. Officers also found suspected stolen catalytic converters, police said.

Hoose Sr. was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of ammunition without a firearms ID, receiving stolen property over $1,200, bribery and witness intimidation.

3 others were also arrested at the scene. Michael Hoose Jr. and Felicia Durphy face drug trafficking charges, while Nicholas Trotta was taken into custody on several outstanding warrants.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
