WORCESTER — Detectives with the Worcester Police Department are asking the public to come forward with any information that could help resolve the disappearance of Sabrina Hatheway, who was last seen more than a decade ago.
Hatheway was 24 years old when she was last seen at a home on Dixfield Road in Worcester in December 2014, police said in a Monday release. Her family has not heard from her since.
On New Year’s Day in 2015, a fire destroyed the Dixfield Road house where Hatheway was last known to be, authorities said. The cause of that fire was later ruled arson. Detectives from the department’s Unresolved Homicide Unit and Special Crimes Missing Persons Unit continue to investigate the case.
The disappearance has been the focus of extensive public attention over the years, including coverage by the local investigative series Unsolved: Worcester. The program reported that Hatheway was last seen on December 20th, 2014, allegedly at the home of her boyfriend, Kevin Crozier, on Dixfield Road.
According to the series, Crozier and 2 associates later attempted to burn the home in an effort to collect insurance money. In March 2015, Crozier and the others faced multiple charges, including arson. None were charged in connection with Hatheway’s disappearance, and her whereabouts remain unknown.
Detectives urged anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact the Worcester Police Department’s Unresolved Homicide Unit anonymous tip line at 508-799-8688. Tips can also be submitted by texting CRIMES (274637) and entering the keyword “TIPWPD,” followed by a message.
Police said they remain committed to finding answers for Hatheway’s family and are asking the public to help bring renewed attention to the case.
