2 sent to hospital as car ends up in Holden reservoir

    HOLDEN — A pair of people were sent to the hospital after a car they were in became submerged after plunging into the water early Saturday morning.

    Holden police were dispatched to a harrowing scene on Reservoir Street where a vehicle was reported to have plunged into the water just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

    The 2 occupants of the car had fortunately managed to escape to safety by the time officers arrived.

    The rescue operation saw the quick response of Direnzo Towing & Recovery, which was called in to extract the submerged vehicle. The Holden Fire Department also provided essential assistance, ensuring the vehicle was successfully removed from the water.

    Authorities have reported that both occupants of the vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation following their ordeal. The condition of the individuals has not been disclosed, but their successful escape from the vehicle suggests a fortunate outcome from what could have been a tragic incident.
