Smokestack Urban Barbecue's hibernation will end next week (Photo: Google)
Smokestack Urban Barbecue, the Canal District restaurant that has been in hibernation, will reopen next week, according to a post of the restaurant's Facebook page.
"[W]e are SO very happy to let y’all know we will be back in action next wednesday february 3rd," the post reads in part.
The restaurant announced on Jan. 3 that it would go into hibernation.
At the time, the restaurant said new government restrictions on occupancy and "the levels of confidence in dining out" during the COVID-19 pandemic were the reasons for closing.
On Thursday, the restaurant wrote, "we would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support during this hiatus
see you next week!"
