A pair of popular Worcester businesses are closing their doors.
Caola Equipment on Park Ave. and gourmet doughnut shop Glasy Susan have announced they are ceasing operations.
Coala Equipment closed its sales, service and parts business on December 31st, according to its website, which has the headline "RETIREMENT TIME HAS ARRIVED!"
"As of 12/31/2022, Caola Equipment will no longer be offering any more Power Equipment Sales, Service or Parts," the note on the website reads.
"The decision to close was not an easy one, but the time has come.
"Over the past 65 + years, we have enjoyed the relationship with our employees, customers, and suppliers.
"Without all of you, our success over the years would not have been possible."
The store remained open until Saturday for customers to pick up equipment being serviced.
Glazy Susan announced Saturday on its social media channels that it will close on January 29th.
"After much consideration and thought, we will be closing Glazy Susan permanently," the post reads. "Our final day will be January 29th."
Owners Joe and Susan Skrzek, who founded Glazy Susan in 2018, wrote: "This is largely a personal decision to fully shift our time, energy, and focus to our growing family and our careers outside of Glazy. This decision has also been influenced by the staggering rise in food costs and the incredibly difficult labor market."
"We have many people to thank, chief among them the DCU Center, and we’ll get to that in due time.
"For now, we’re going to have a great final month with you all - the Glazy Gang."
Glazy Susan opened in 2018 at the pop-up at the Worcester Regional Food Hub, according to an article on MassLive.
The doughnut shop moved to the DCU Center in September 2020.
